Foundation Phase Lead
Cardiff Met Sport & Sport Cardiff are the driving force behind sport, physical activity, health & wellbeing in Wales’ Capital City. We work across the City and in partnership with a range of local, regional and national partners to develop and manage sector leading sport facilities including, the National Indoor Athletics Centre, Tennis Centre, Archers Arena and a number of 21st Century Schools. We also lead the strategic direction and delivery of a wide variety of cutting-edge development programmes across schools, communities, clubs & workforce, and health & wellbeing both on our campuses and throughout Cardiff. To support the delivery of our FAW Category A football academy, we’re looking for a Foundation Phase Lead to be responsible for the planning and delivery of the U8-U11 programme. Your work as our Foundation Phase Lead will help us in creating an outstanding coaching environment that is focused on player development.
You’ll play a key role by:
Delivering high-quality football coaching sessions and develop a workforce which provides an outstanding playing and coaching experience.
Taking responsibility for the day-to-day co-ordination of the foundation phase, including support of Head and Assistant Coaches.
Ensuring an alignment of practice with our game-model principles whilst maintaining / developing competitive integrity.
What you’ll bring:
With a passion for coaching and player development within a football academy you’ll be able to develop, implement and work within a football curriculum to create an outstanding coaching and playing environment. Your experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team and player development will enable you to provide detailed and insightful player performance reviews and mentor coaches involved in the foundation phase.
It's not just about coaching football, it’s about working within the whole football system to support players development and progress, coach development and mentoring and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Additionally you’ll:
Work with the Technical Lead and Academy & Youth Manager to oversee player recruitment within the youth development phase.
Ensure administrative responsibilities are adhered to. These include but are not limited to: Completion of registers, weekly communication with parents, and tasks related to COMET and Player Track Pro.
Hold a UEFA B Licence, FAW First Aid Qualification and FAW Safeguarding qualification.
