Job Title: GK Coach – Women’s Team

Location: Cobham Training Ground
DEPARTMENT: CFC Women’s Team
JOB FUNCTION: To be responsible for the management of the CFCW goalkeeping department, inclusive of all technical aspects of player development at senior level, whilst working as part of a technical team implementing a tactical philosophy/style so that the goalkeepers suitably meet the teams playing style.

Roles & Responsibilities



Day to day duties (First Team)



manage, run and design all aspects related to player development at senior level. Showing a clear technical philosophy that meets the day to day needs of a CFCW goalkeeper, inclusive of technical, tactical and psychological components.
work to a training programme designed for Senior International level goalkeeper’s that meets the needs of the individual and the team through both structured basic action drills and unstructured scenario practices that represent the role of the goalkeeper.
assist with the design of training sessions for the 1st team, working to and alongside the training program put into place by the manager.
attend all 1st team training sessions and Matches as required.
To support the goalkeepers in the first team training group with their Individual Action Plans on and off field.
provide analytical feedback and data to the goalkeeper(s) both technically and tactically from training sessions and game observations.
work in collaboration with the Manager to ensure effective communication with
players and staff including other Chelsea football club departments as required.
evaluate and monitor individual progress and performance, reporting directly to the General manager/Manager
ensure the role and responsibilities of the goalkeeper are met effectively in both a training program and all match day strategies
perform other duties as required helping the performance of the women’s department.
support the department by working within the parameters of the operating budget and be financially responsible at all times.
lead on the delivery of 1st team set piece organisation in training sessions and match day content.
analyse opposition and CFCW set pieces to create subsequent video presentations and reports to management and players.




Recruitment & Scouting (First Team)



To increase the database we already have on senior goalkeepers across world football
Travel and complete live reports on goalkeepers of interest to CFC.
Identify potential targets and to recommend to the General manager / Head of recruitment




Loans (First Team & Academy)



Help nurture our ‘Gold Star’ talent by watching, reporting on performances and using video analysis to prescribe technical work for I.A.P’s
Keeping regular dialogue with any 3rd party goalkeeping coach ensuring the needs of the individual and CFCW are met.


Club / Girls Academy



work with the Head of Goalkeeping CFC Global, head of academy goalkeeping for both boys and girls departments to ensure a suitable programme is set at all levels to develop Chelsea standard goalkeepers.
have clear communication with all CFCW goalkeeping staff, ensuring that there is a clear pathway between 1st team and girls academy so that all developmental expectations are met as set by the general manager/head of recruitment
work with the Girls head of academy goalkeeping to ensure all support is met throughout the women’s department both in 1st team and girls academy, inclusive of session staffing, content and CPD.


Personal Specification.



Knowledge

Essential



years of professional football support within coaching or playing at senior level.
of working with female athletes
experience of managing successful teams and promotion of players from youth to senior level.
of football operations and of CFCW /Women’s football.
and working application of The FA’s player pathway framework.
understanding of relevant regulatory bodies in the industry.

Understanding of associated topic areas (Coaching/Female Athletes/Scouting)


Technical/work-based skills

and application of a range of training methods.
coaching experience with elite female players across youth and senior levels.
in the use of a PC, Tablets & MS Windows based computer applications, including use of MS Office (Excel/Word/Outlook).
