Head of Academy Goalkeeping
Department Academy
Reports to Head of Coaching
Location Clubs training grounds
Salary £24,000 to £26,000
Hours 40 hours per week

Role Summary
Our Category Three Academy is an integral part of our club, and our vision is driven by our youth development structure and community values. This position is for a driven individual who is enthusiastic, hardworking and possesses the skillset to work in our Elite environment.
Reporting into our Head of Coaching and Youth Development Phase Lead Coach the successful applicant will be responsible for Coaching players in line with our Academy philosophy.

Key Job Outcomes
• To oversee the development of goalkeepers from U9 – U18’s, including monitoring and providing support to the young pros.
• To develop and implement the coaching curriculum and programme for goalkeepers aligned with the academy value, vision and playing philosophy.
• To line manage the part time Goalkeeper Coach in the Foundation Phase who will be responsible for the U9 – U12 age groups within the academy.
• To plan, deliver and review coaching sessions in the U13 – U18’s age groups in line with the academy coaching curriculum.
• Ensure the monitoring of goalkeeper’s performance across the academy in both training sessions and games.
• Liaise closely with the Lead Phase coaches and Academy coaches throughout the age groups regarding training, games, and progress.
• Ensure all goalkeepers within the academy have an up-to-date individual development plan which is consistently reviewed, adapted and tailored to the individual development needs of the player across the four corners.
• To contribute towards the multidisciplinary team and work closely with other departments to ensure we have a comprehensive development programme.
• Develop and mentor age-appropriate coaching curriculums and development programmes across the academy ensuring there is an integrated approach with outfield coaches and players.
• Assist with administrative tasks related to the role, including general organisation, recording of sessions, player reviews, learning objectives and weekly reflections.
• Actively support the coach competency framework and undertake CPD organised by the club and take responsibility for your own professional development.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
UEFA A in Goalkeeping
Advance Youth Award Coaching Licence
UEFA B in Goalkeeping
First Aid qualification
Experience of working in the professional game previously
Able to communicate effectively
Good interpersonal skills
Experience of working in an academy environment previously
