PLACEMENT TITLE: Lead Sports Therapist
DEPARTMENT: Medical & Exercise Department
REPORTS TO: First Team Manager & Academy Manager
LOCATION: Stanley Park Sports Ground / Thornbury Surfacing Stadium, additional travel may be required
HOURS: Monday 09:00 - 12:00, Tuesday 15:00 - 21:00, Thursday 15:00 - 21:00, All Vanarama National League fixtures (Saturdays and some midweek evenings) - In season
SALARY: £12,500 - £15,500 - dependant on experience
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join and lead the medical department at Chippenham Town Football Club. We are looking to appoint a part-time Lead Sport Therapist to lead the medical department at the football club for the first team and U17 – U21 Academy.
The successful applicant will be lead in all aspects of treatment room, pitch and gym-based care of first team squad players. They will work within an extensive multi-disciplinary team to provide treatment and rehabilitation to players with the aim of achieving the highest level of care possible.
Key responsibilities
The assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of players across the first team and academy squads as required.
To provide pitch side medical cover at first team training sessions throughout the season
Providing medical care at all first team home and away games, inclusive of pre, during and post-game.
Develop and manage processes between the clubs Sports Science, Conditioning and Coaching department
To maintain adequate qualifications to enable completion of job role and ensure adequate CPD to ensure best quality practice and in line with SST or BASRAT guidelines.
Take a lead role in the provision of pre-season and in season screening of players in coordination with our Sports Science department and leading on from this, to aid in providing prehabilitation programmes to all first team and academy players to assist in reducing the risk of injuries
Responsible for the management of medical equipment stock and clinical supplies
Responsible for creating and managing regular injury reports for first team and academy squad reporting to first team management
Provide medical first aid CPD training for all club staff
Recruit, manage and support the development of intern support staff, including feedback to partner Universities
Live within a commutable distance to Chippenham
Essential qualifications/experience
• BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy
• Registered membership to either SST or BASRAT
• Up to date FA’s Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF) or equivalent qualification.
• Experience of working within an elite/professional sports environment (desirable)
• DBS check
• UK Driving License
