ROLE DESCRIPTION
boys regional coach
responsible for the mapping of U13–U16 players, the development processes of players in these age groups and their operating environments, and the management of regional national team activities in Ostrobothnia and Satakunta. The position has a four-year term for the period 1 January 2025-31 December 2028.

Our role for you
In your role, you work at the core of the Finnish Football Association's player development. Your main goal is to develop the operation of the player path in your region together with the clubs in a seamless way, so that the coaching, operating methods and game performances of the clubs in the region contribute to the advancement of the players to international fields.
You are part of the regional coaching team, and you work closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve goals. Your supervisor is the player development manager for the youth and specialization phase.

Your interesting and versatile field of work includes:
•Comprehensive support for the development of sports activities of the clubs in the area
•Making a player survey and supporting the high-quality everyday life of players in the 13-16 age group in the region
•Management, organization and coaching of regional national team activities in own functional area
•Development of Huuhkajapolu measures in the 13-16 age group
•Implementing the player monitoring of Huuhkaja days in your own region and in Huuhkajaliga levels 4–5 tournaments for teams in your region
•Working in coaching positions together with the youth national team (PU15, PU16, PU17 or PU19) coaching team
•Supporting the development processes of the sports side of the clubs in your functional area in accordance with the processes of the quality system
•Field evaluations of the quality system in clubs in your area in the 13–16 age group
•Collaborating closely with the coaches of the clubs in your area and communicating the core messages of the national team function to the club coaches
•Conducting further development work of the Finnish Football Association's coaching line and developing coaching expertise (as a trainer in continuing education, as expert support for the training team)
•Being a mentor to two talent coaches

Successful handling of the task requires:
· Knowledge of international and national youth top football and the ability to create and manage networks in one's own area
· Coaching experience at the top youth football level (homeland or abroad)
· Knowledge of talent identification and understanding of different player paths
· Pedagogical skills for working with young players
· Excellent leadership qualities (ability to lead operations in a structured and systematic manner)
· Ability to create a learning, motivating and positively inspiring atmosphere in the coaching environment
· Excellent social skills and ability to perform
· Ability to work independently and take responsibility for development processes, as well as the desire to commit to common operating models and processes in terms of player monitoring, development and analysis of the way of playing
· Experience in developing coaching skills, cooperation in coaching networks and working in a team
· Ability to utilize modern teaching methods and tools in coaching and coach training
· Constant desire to develop and learn
· The position requires the ability to work in a mentally and physically demanding operating environment, where the expectations related to the operation are high.
You have a valid UEFA A coaching license and a plan to complete the UEFA Elite Youth A coaching qualification. Another national or international degree that supports the task is considered an advantage.
You master (oral/written) at least Finnish and English. Other language skills are considered an advantage.
The position requires the ability to travel at home and abroad.
