Description
This is an exciting opportunity to work across the Premier League, EFL, and the FA.
As part of the Elite Player Performance Plan, the overarching professional-game strategy for the development of youth footballers in England, the Academies of professional football clubs are categorised into four categories (1-4), based on a combination of spend, infrastructure, staffing, and qualitative assessments of their provisions across a range of multidisciplinary areas. The female talent pathway aims to support the development of more and better home-grown players through two key programmes; Emerging Talent Centres and the Women's Professional Game Academies.
To effectively categorise Academies and to support the continual raising of standards in elite player development, an independent standards organisation has been developed, mandated by the professional game; to monitor safety, compliance and the quality of work being delivered.
The independent standards organisation oversees a multidisciplinary assessment of Academies across; Leadership and Management, Coaching, Performance Support, Duty of Care, Education, Safeguarding, and Productivity.
As part of the above, we are looking for a Senior Academy Auditor to support the General Manager, deliver the strategic objectives and provide leadership across the business.
The role
Working closely with and supporting the General Manager as part of the Senior Management Team to provide strategic leadership and development of the PGAAC and its functions
Support the delivery of the strategic objectives based on the PGAAC KPI outputs and objectives
Assisting with staff recruitment including identification of staff requirements, interviewing candidates, final selection, and onboarding
Analyse current operational processes, policies, systems, and performance, recommending solutions for improvement and implementing new procedures
Ensure effective professional development and performance management for staff under their direct management
Build links with stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and particular interests
Working on audit assignments all the way from planning through to completion and identifying key risk areas in the audit planning process. Reviewing Audit reports and amending where necessary
Experience:
Requirements for the role
Professional history of managing people, teams and being on a senior leadership/management team
Experience of leadership and mentoring people in an elite environment
Experience of implementing safeguarding procedures
Previous experience in reviewing, assessing, and developing recommendations for multidisciplinary development programs at a strategic level
Experience of working with children and adults at risk and/or knowledge and understanding of issues that affect their safety and wellbeing
Skill And Abilities:

Knowledge:
High practical and theoretical understanding of talent development demands in elite level sport
Strong understanding of safeguarding practices
Understanding and appreciation of context and cultural difference between clubs of different sizes and philosophies
Appropriate degree and / or relevant management qualification (or equivalent experience)
Safeguarding and Protecting Children qualifications i.e. Designated Safeguarding Lead
Knowledge of the Interdisciplinary areas covered by the Audit
Personal Attributes & Other Requirements:
Wants to take a lead in driving standards forward to add value to the Academy system (boys & girls pathway)
Has a passion for working with people to develop them so that they are able to achieve
Has a desire to develop their own knowledge and capability to be at the leading edge of audit and auditor development

Understanding and appreciation of context and cultural difference between clubs of different sizes and philosophies
IT literate
Full driving licence, frequent travel required
