What will you be doing?
The U21’s Assistant Coach will manage and support the development and transition of U21s players through the planning, delivery and ongoing evaluation of the interdisciplinary Player Development Programme including, but not limited to, age specific curriculum delivery, individual development plans and player transition.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be aiding the coaching delivery of the U21s programme, in line with the Academy methodology and club-wide game model. You will also assist the U21s Head Coach with match day planning, delivery and post-match review. Additionally, you will manage and support the interdisciplinary individual development plan process, in line with club wide Player Profiles.
You will be expected to manage the progression of players in and out of the U21s age group. In addition to this, you will monitor the U21s players involved in First Team training, providing additional coaching support as necessary to aid player progress and development. You will also need to oversee the well-being of the players in collaboration with the Player Care department.
You will be expected to aid the Head of Academy Coaching with education initiatives and sharing video data and resources with staff, players, and parents using various SFC Academy platforms. You may also assist with cross departmental projects which aim to improve the way data and video is used as a feedback mechanism with the staff and players.
Is this you?
We are looking for someone who possesses good communication skills who can build relationships with players and staff across the club. They should also be able demonstrate a high level of technical and tactical football knowledge.
Essential Skills and Experience:
UEFA A Licence.
FA Advanced Youth Award.
Coaching experience within Academy or an International Youth coaching environment at relevant age groups.
Performance analysis experience within an Academy setting at relevant age groups.
Depth and quality of experience within individual player development in both coaching and analysis settings.
Experience in leading and developing a phase and/or team of staff in Academy environment.
Track record in developing elite talent.
Desirable Skills and Experience
Undergraduate degree in sports coaching, sports science, performance analysis, or related subject.
